The Boys & Girls Club of Allentown is having a bright start to 2021 thanks to a major private gift of $150,000 each year for two years from The Larson Family Foundation.  This donation will have a positive impact on not only the Club but also in our community. 

“We would like to thank Mr. Dale Larson of The Larson Family Foundation for providing an incredible collaborative donation to the Boys & Girls Club of Allentown.  This transformational investment in our organization is not only for today but in the future will make a tremendous impact on the youth in Allentown.  A donation of this magnitude will enable us to provide additional educational programs to our members and to complete several capital projects.  Mr. Larson’s spirit of giving is truly inspirational and will encourage others to support our programs, GREAT FUTURES START HERE,” said Deborah Fries-Jackson, Chief Executive Officer of the Boys & Girls Club of Allentown.

Through and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic, the Boys & Girls Club of Allentown has been doing whatever it takes to meet basic needs for the kids and teens they serve, including increasing food security, and continuing to provide youth with safe, supportive environments that increase their access to opportunities and experiences.  Support from The Larson Family Foundation and employees at each of the Larson Manufacturing and distribution locations will help Boys & Girls Clubs to continue and expand this work in the Allentown community.

“Right now, the entire nation is suffering from the results of the pandemic crisis, economic recession and lack of mental health solutions,” said Dale Larson, president of The Larson Family Foundation and former CEO of Larson Manufacturing. “Because the needs are so extraordinarily high, we decided to expand our contributions nationally and do our part to help alleviate the problems of our fellow Americans. We are our brother’s and sister’s keeper.” 

Larson hopes to inspire others to join his efforts by matching any donation made to the Boys & Girls Club of Allentown this year.  With the public’s support, the Club can continue to support kids and families and provide hope in our communities.
